September to December 2026

Volunteering

Volunteer Sundays are normally held on the first and third Sundays of every month, as follows: September 6th and 20th, October 4th and 18th, November 1st and 15th, December 6th and 20th.  They normally last from 10am to about 1pm.  All are welcome. Come when you can, and stay for as long as you want. Sue Price, our volunteer organiser (07977 599181) will meet you around 9.45am at the Car Park unless otherwise stated.  Finishing around 1pm.

Midweek volunteer days: We are somewhere in the woodland most Wednesdays with our volunteers if the weather is OK, so if you want to come along and help just ring Sue (see above) to check when and where to meet.

Saturday 10th October 2026, 10am.  Meet in Ruperra Car Park.

Fungal Foray - Our first of two, this one is being led by our favourite local botanist, Dr Peter Sturgess, who'll no doubt be finding many of those mysterious mycological marvels...

Sunday 25th October 2026, 10.30am. Meet in Ruperra Car Park.

Fungal Foray number two!  This time, we have Chris Jones of Natur Hyd, and we're hoping he can find even more fabulous fungi by furkling under every leaf (sorry about all the alliteration, we couldn't resist...)

Thursday 26th November 2026, 7.30pm.  The Twyn, Caerphilly.

Annual General Meeting. All paid-up members are very welcome - come and have your say (or just hear our trustees having theirs!).

Saturday February 6th 2027, 10.30am.  Meet in Ruperra Car Park.

Snowdrop Walk: Our annual stroll along the Snowdrop Path (of course!) to see how the volunteers' clearance efforts have done this year. Should be a good show as always. Leaders Sue and Bill.

Also - October 15-17th 2026.

Ruperra Castle's 400th anniversary.  Ruperra Castle Preservation Trust have organized various talks to commemorate this. Check out their website!
